The Work Of Brian Henderson Jr.

This is a collection of work I created over the past decade in which I’ve been a designer for Hobby Lobby in the Art Department as well as the Advertising Department. If I’m not working I’m probably rewatching Bob’s Burgers, Megalo Box, or Craig of the Creek. Lately I’ve been learning about UI/UX design through the Google UI class. I recently completed the Master Gorgeous UI Design Course created by Pablo Stanley and Team

My current fascination is:

RESUMÈ

SEASONAL WEEKLY AD PROMO

After making the switch to the advertising team at Hobby Lobby, I was charged with creating eye-catching seasonal ads for use across social platforms to increase engagement with the weekly ad. The videos garnered 4 million views collectively, increasing reach exponentially. Due to the success of the winter video, Hobby Lobby decided to extend the project allowing me to create videos for each season including an evergreen piece for use year-round.

HOBBY LOBBY DIGITAL REDESIGN

Over the past 10 years, my work within the Art and Advertising departments has been instrumental in the company’s ability to more than double their profits, reaching approximately $8 billion last year. Since 2015, I have been responsible for creating 3-4 weekly emails with a 4.9 million reach. I have been a key team member in company redesigns from 2015-2017 and again in 2019. Redesigns included: in store signage, in house signage, website, emails, mobile app, advertising materials, and grand opening materials: direct mailers, emails, hiring ads, etc.

LOGOS/MARKS

I’ve had the opportunity to work with a variety of small businesses, a local fighter, art/history museums to create logos and refresh existing brands. The personality of not only the business but the owners were the primary source of inspiration for the marks.

LAURA & MIKE WEDDING MENUS/CHARTS

In 2021 I had the opportunity to help dear friends with bespoke design elements and printwork for their wedding. Printwork included seating charts, itinerary, food and drink menus, and nameplates. In collaboration with my partner, we developed a look for the paper goods that tied-in with the preexisting design elements (i.e. the color palette, décor, and overall atmosphere).

GUTHRIE NEWS LEADER EDITORIAL GRAPHICS

From 2017-2019 I worked with the editorial staff at the Guthrie News Leader to increase their exposure and overall ad revenue. The primary avenue identified to achieve this goal was to revamp their High School Football Preview. Working with the lead writers at GNL, we created a few fun, engaging and informative yearly editorial periodicals. I enjoyed the creative freedom of this project and took the opportunity to create mini-press runs for the players.

MISCELLANEOUS

I often find time to dive into new fascinations. I’ve had the privilege to be able to learn new skills post-college like motion design, UI/UX design, creating type, etc. This is the home for those things.
